How to deal with the evil that seems to be an intrinsic part of the world is the theme of this workshop, which was held in January 2003. A Course in Miracles takes us to the source of the problem, the evil buried deeply in our minds in the secret agreement with the ego never to take responsibility for separating from God. Rather, we see this evil as always taking place outside our minds in the world. This dynamic, shown to be the ultimate cause of all war and hostility, is expressed in one line in the text: “Forget not that the witness to the world of evil cannot speak except for what has seen a need for evil in the world.” The discussion and commentary in this workshop center on exposing this unconscious need to see evil outside, and the consequences of its expression in our lives and in the world. The solution of this perennial problem is presented in the context of undoing our guilt through joining with Jesus in forgiveness.
