Kenneth Wapnick, Ph.D.

Sin, the bedrock of the ego’s thought system of separation, is treated as a serious event, deserving God’s wrath and punishment. And within the world that sin has made it is serious indeed. Yet in the mind, above the body’s battleground, Jesus helps us see the world of separation, differences, and attack as but a quaint absurdity, its place taken by his vision of God’s one Son, separate but the same, the prerequisite for awakening to God and the Oneness of Christ.

This is the way salvation works. As you step back, the light in you steps forward and encompasses the world. It heralds not the end of sin in punishment and death. In lightness and in laughter is sin gone, because its quaint absurdity is seen. It is a foolish thought, a silly dream, not frightening, ridiculous perhaps, but who would waste an instant in approach to God Himself for such a senseless whim?
