The focus of the workshop is God: the ego’s concepts of a personal deity, found in most formal religions of the world, versus the Course’s understanding of a non-personal, non-dualistic Presence Who is the Source of all being. Specific emphasis is placed on the projections of the wrong mind’s thought system of guilt and punishment onto a god who merely reflects the ego’s calls for specialness. Jesus, therefore, teaches us forgiveness as the means for moving beyond our theistic beliefs to the love that is the knowledge of Heaven.
Simply do this: Be still, and lay aside all thoughts of what you are and what God is; all concepts you have learned about the world; all images you hold about yourself.… Forget this world, forget this course, and come with wholly empty hands unto your God.
