This 2011 seminar, based upon a sentence from workbook Lesson 190, focuses on the pain caused by the mind’s deci­sion to identify with the ego’s thought system of guilt demanding punishment. Only by recognizing the self-destructive suffering inherent in our mistaken choice to be a body can we say, “Peace to such foolishness!” By our mind’s rejection of the ego’s worship of the body through pleasure and pain, we are able to choose the Holy Spirit’s forgiveness, return­ing the mind’s awareness to the joy, holiness, and light of Christ that is our natural inheritance as God’s Son.

And so again we make the only choice that ever can be made; we choose between illusions and the truth, or pain and joy, or hell and Heaven. Let our gratitude unto our Teacher fill our hearts, as we are free to choose our joy instead of pain, our holiness in place of sin, the peace of God instead of conflict, and the light of Heaven for the darkness of the world.
